First up is Madison. For both children , I decided to go with the free Ambleside Online curriculum as posted on their website. Jeanne at A Peaceful Day uses it quite successfully with her beautiful daughter as has Tammy at Aut 2 Be Home in Carolina who is the premier authority on all things Charlotte Mason. I love the concept behind learning the most by reading lots of living books on the subject. As scary as it was, I researched and decided to go with AO Year 4 so Madison could continue with colonial America.

Math
She will finish her Singapore Book 3B but we will not be going into the next one just yet. For the rest of the term after she finishes the book, she will work on hammering in her multiplication tables. She just needs to practice, practice, practice. She will play Timez Attack , do flashcards and drills.
Bible
She will finish her Awana Book 2.
Narration
Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Read one chapter out loud then do picture narration with 3 sentences. The picture narration is not necessary but I use it as her reward for getting her work done since she likes to draw so much.
PE
Dance, dance and more dance. I don't need to add anything else to that schedule for sure!
I know this looks like a ton of reading for her but some she will read to herself, some we will read a loud and some she will listen to from My Audio School. It really is a great combination for her. This is all her independent work. The rest of her work we do together and that post is still in process!
Yay, yay, yay! So glad you're trying AO! I think Madison is quite similar to Jemimah. She'll do great! AO4 is a wonderful year.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, I'm not sure I can live up to that reputation. You must have me mistaken for some other Tammy at Aut-2B-Home in Carolina. Ha, ha!
ReplyDeleteI remember we listened to Trumpet of the Swan while driving up the Al-Can highway when we moved to Alaska. Great book!
I bet she will love Minn of the Mississippi just like Reece did!! Ok, and Mom did, too! LOL
ReplyDeleteWe love AO! We're doing Year 2 this year.
ReplyDeleteWe are finishing up ao1 and starting ao2 soon, it's been great!
