Weekly Wrap Up: The Catch Up Edition

I know you're thinking , are they even doing lessons anymore! I know, that's what I was thinking.  Especially since week 1 culminated on January 11, 2013.  Why yes, that was a month ago.  I'll not drag out the suspense any longer.  We were all sick.  As in all of us, even me.  Like most moms, I spent so much time caring for others that I did not take proper care of myself until it was too late.  Knocked on my back  and unable to move.  Not fun.  Then everything fell behind so we had to play catch up with fun things like housework and laundry.  Oh, where is the laundry fairy when you need her?

This month  has been a blur between being sick and the culmination of our fundraising project for Team Jimani.  That all climaxes next week with the Princess half marathon in which I will be participating.  Right now, we have 5ks, Spirit Nights at Chick Fil A and Red Elephant, and lots of prep happening in an effort to finish that out strong.  Don't worry , we are doing lessons too!

We went to see two plays, Momix: Botanica, think interpretative dance and The Civil War.  Logan and I went to see Othello at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre as well.

Dad had a birthday so we ate cake!  Chocolate cake at that.  Madison had a really hard time understanding how it was possible that he would have to work on his birthday.  I love that kid!

We went on a tour of the post office.  It's always fun to see behind the scenes at ordinary places.  We were especially interested in it since Uncle Brian works for the postal service.  We got to hang out with friends too.

Finally, Michael and I snuck away to celebrate a beloved friend's birthday in Savannah.  A weekend away with great friends doing grown up stuff like art galleries and champagne.  I loved it and the city.  I can't wait to take the kids this year especially since we are studying the Civil War.  Amazing place for sure.

We went to other places as well like LEGOLAND, Alafia River Rendevous and places I have probably forgot.  We did our lessons too but I won't bore you with those!

Check out what everyone else is doing at Weird Unsocialized Homeschoolers!

  1. So sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well. It sounds like an awesome week, though. Wow. Can we come and join in on your homeschool? Legoland, post offices tours, plays, preparing for marathons....makes me tired just typing it all out. I hear you about the laundry. Even when no one is sick, I just can't keep up. :-) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
